(Get Ready To) Watch the Latest Blockbusters

Look out the window.  It's summer!  Time for enjoying the outside, going for bike rides or runs, eating picnics, hanging out at playgrounds, and so forth.  Or -- it could be time to watch some movies.  There have to have been some really good movies over the last three years, right?  I have no idea - I have seen zero of them.  Law school does that to us.

But, it's time to update the netflix account and get that queue set up, so that right after the bar exam you can lock yourself away in your room, eat your anxiety, do whatever else you do, and catch up on three years of missed cinematic genius. 

What did you miss?  Let's start with academy award and golden globe winners (both best drama and comedy):
2009: Hurt Locker / Avatar / The Hangover
2008: Slumdog Millionaire / Vicky Christina Barcelona
2007: No Country for Old Men / Atonement / Sweeney Todd

What else did you miss that you should have seen?  Aside from Avatar, in 2009 the other four highest grossing movies were: Transformers, Harry Potter and the something something, Twilight, and Up.  Holy crap.  I have zero interest in seeing any of those movies.  Although I have no idea what Up was about.

Netflix also lists the Top 100 movies, which I suppose is based on rentals.  Check that out too.  You should be able to get through the entire list before your start date. 

Oh, and for what it's worth, "queuing" is a great hangman word.
