Celebrate the Longest Day of the Year

In the Great Gatsby, Daisy reminds us:

In two weeks it'll be the longest day in the year. . .  Do you always watch for the longest day of the year and then miss it?  I always watch for the longest day in the year and then miss it.
Well, today, that longest day of the year is upon us.  According to Wikipedia (which is always correct) this year the solstice is today, June 21.  In some future years, yesterday will be the longest day of the year.  But this year it's today, not yesterday.

And, we all know that today isn't really the longest day of the year.  The longest day of the year is 25 hours and will be November 7, 2010 - the end of daylight savings time.  But there will be less daylight on that day, so it's not as long.

So what are you going to do today?  Nothing if you're allergic to the sun.  Also nothing if you're studying for the bar.  But for the rest of you reading this blog (and I know you're out there - thank you) today you should find something fun to do and tell us about it.  We're stuck in class with the crazy singing property professor.

Everyone should go out tanning at twenty-one hundred hours tonight.
